Bag of Money Test

A person walks into an empty conference room and finds a shopping bag full of money sitting unattended on the conference room table. The person's first thought distinguish engineers from entrepreneurs.

The engineer thinks, what stupid person left a bag of money sitting on the table where anyone could take it?

The entrepreneur thinks, what's the worst thing that could happen to me if I just took this bag of money?

The engineer assumes reward will come from one's own efforts so taking the money is never considered. The entrepreneur is not so encumbered. Notice that the test doesn't assume the entrepreneur takes the money but only that the first thought is a risk-reward analysis of the opportunity.

Both engineers and entrepreneurs are increasingly held in disregard by the general public. By this test that disenfranchised public would never enter the room.
