The Neo4j Community Site and Forum is based on Discourse. It's a place to ask questions and to help others, but also to share things you've worked on and to collaborate locally.
We want to thank you all for contributing to the growth, friendliness and helpfulness of our Slack Channel. Especially to everyone who tirelessly answered questions of those hundreds of new users showing up each month. As our user Slack grew to 8,750 members, it became more and more difficult to answer questions properly, and many discussions descended into private messages. Also, the 10,000 message limit made it impossible to find out if a question was already answered, and required the helpful folks to repeat themselves time and again.
Others that encountered the same issues, came to the same conclusion and moved to a dedicated forum, several of those also to Discourse as we are doing.
Going forward, we will reduce the number of slack channels and change our interactions to a more casual chat. We'll refer technical questions to the new site.
